News and Important Information

Dear students,
There will be a first meeting on Tuesday, April 14, at 12:30 in room S02 (1385|202) in C.A.R.L. where all necessary details will be discussed (date of lectures, content, receptions, problem sets, ...):

  • Please note: If you are interested in attending the course but cannot attend the first meeting, please send me an email by Monday, April 13.

  • I will send out a doodle pool afterwards in order to find a day/time for the lectures (these will start in the second week of class).

Course Description

The topic of the second part of this course, model predictive control, has its roots in optimal control. Whereas the classical optimal control formulation results in an open loop control, model predictive control aims to solve an optimal control problem over a finite time-horizon, implementing only the current timestep and then re-optimizing. It thus takes the dynamics of the system into account, can react to disturbances and also anticipate future events.
