Drops-Workshop:
Two-phase incompressible flows: modeling aspects and methods for numerical simulation

This workshop is organized by the Department of Mathematics, RWTH Aachen, in collaboration with the SFB 540 'Model based experimental analysis of kinetic phenomena in fluid multi-phase reactive systems' and the Graduate School 'Aachen Institute for Advanced Study in Computational Engineering Science' (AICES).

Date: June 25th - 27th, 2007
Scientific topics:The workshop should promote the exchange of new ideas and results related to modeling aspects and the development and application of efficient numerical methods for the simulation of two-phase incompressible flows. The topics include (but are not limited to)
  • modeling of mass transport
  • treatment of surfactants
  • Marangoni effects and variable surface tension
  • numerical treatment of surface tension
  • level set methods
